Abstract

The paper proposes a simplified and modified method of calculation of wire closing-in under two-phase short-circuit. The method takes into account main characteristics of short-circuit with the help of electrodynamic force impulse. An explicit formula have been developed to calculate maximum wire deflection with due account of constructive elements of switch gears and correction factor. The value of correction factor is calculated with the help of computer program in view of changes in wire configuration and their deformation in case of short-circuit.

Abstract

Investigations that were conducted with the help of overhead transmission line model reflecting such situations as wire swinging cross, their contact with fallen trees and other earthed objects have shown that the overhead transmission line may operate rather long under such conditions. However leakage current may lead to dangerous high potentials on these objects and around them.

The results of calculations and experimental research have revealed that in the case of dry surface of polyethylene coating of overhead transmission line wire leakage current on earthed object and insulation resistance is determined by object-wire capacitance and it does not depend on specimen length and object resistance. Leakage current does not exceed 1 mA and insulation impedance is not less than 50 Nffi for real overhead transmission line spans.

Abstract

A mathematical model of impulse devices of phase locking with charge pumping has been developed in state space. The paper proposes an algorithm of modeling transient processes. An analytical expression for parasitic deviation of frequency in steady-state conditions has been obtained. An analysis of stability has been carried out.

Abstract

The paper considers an algorithm of optimization of electrical power system conditions with due account of loss in power network. A method of dynamic programming and a successive approximation method are simultaneously used as optimization methods. The efficiency of these analytical methods is evaluated by methodology intended for account of losses in power network. A program for practical application in timely and dispatching power system control has been elaborated in accordance with the proposed algorithm.

Abstract

The problem is considered how to increase current-limiting capabilities of a controlled reactor with the help of compensation of contact magnetic flux of control windings by opposing flux of compensating windings. This compensation process takes place in the reactor magnetic circuit. The paper contains the results of experimental investigations using physical reactor model in the form of dependence characterictics family: dependence of reactor inductive impedance on changes in impressed voltage and current in its inducing windings. It has been shown that in steady-state mode of short-circuit reactor inductive impedance may exceed the impedance of its normal mode by 11-12-fold.

Abstract

The paper considers the place and role of Azerbaijan Power System in the Euro-Asian Power Association which is to be established, power line capacities of inter-state power lines. Justification of construction of new power lines is given in the paper.

It contains the characteristics of control systems of steam-turbine, gas- and gas-turbine plants. Level of sufficiency and control efficiency (frequency and power) and satisfactoriness of their characterictics have been analyzed. The conclusions have served as a basis for the works that had been started to develop and technically modernize the control systems.

Abstract

Formulation of the problem concerning optimal numerical modeling of CaCO3 roasting with the purpose to obtain highly qualitative final product CaO for metallurgical electric arc furnaces is given in the paper.

Modeling results in reduction of CaCO3 overheating at the stage of roasting. The paper proposes a substitution of the processes taking place at all stages by a large scale process of CO2 desorption from CaCO3 with CaO formation.

Abstract

The paper contains the results of experimental research and comparative analysis of mean convective heat transfer of a single pipe of 55.6 mm outside diameter with aluminium rolled-on ribs at 16.8 ribbing coefficient of horizontal, vertical and inclined arrangements. Data have been obtained for a single row of vertically and horizontally arranged pipes and also for singles rows of two-, three-, four-, five- and six-pipes which are horizontally arranged one over another with a 70 mm interval.

Results of the investigations have been generalized in the form of similitude exponential equations embracing the interval of Relay number (35...400) • 103. Horizontal arrangement of a pipe results in the highest intensity of convactive heat transfer. When the number of pipes in a row is more than five convactive heat transfer reaches the least value and then this index is practically unchangeable. Decrease in convactive heat transfer intensity is equal to 1.42- and 1.21-fold in comparison with one- and two-pipe row.

Abstract

Analysis of turbine oil purification has made it possible to ascertain the reason of failures in the system of T-200-130 LMZ turbine-driven set at South Urals Hydroelectric Power Station. This reason is non-effective operation of a coarse filter and high wear of a bearing No.4. The filter has been modernized and the required normative oil purity in the system of bearing lubrication and turbine-driven set regulation has been obtained.

It has been shown that sieve fabric of polyamide monofilaments ensures effective filtration of contaminated oil in the system of bearing lubrication and steam turbines.

Particle-size analysis of turbine oil impurities in various points of oil supply system can be used for technical diagnostics of turbine-driven set bearings.

Abstract

The paper gives examples that show how to analyse situations and make a conclusion in an automated decision-making system under on-line control of power station equipment operation. It is revealed that conclusion procedure and algorithm concerning interaction of system separate parts significantly depend on the fact as far as single-meaning conclusions can be obtained on the basis of automatically measured information about an object to be controlled.
