Abstract

The paper presents evaluation method of electric power saving due to periodical cleaning of oil pipeline linear part which is intended to increase an equivalent diameter of the pipeline. The proposed method is based on statistical model developed on the basis of 24-hourly statistics reflecting modes of electric power consumption that take place at an enterprise. Electric power saving is evaluated according to changes of an equivalent diameter in the process of oil pipeline cleaning (and after this process) with respect to changes of an equivalent diameter without pipeline cleaning.

Abstract

On the basis of the developed device for protection against of ferro-resonant and high-frequency cumulative over-voltages an algorithm for obtaining a voltage imitating ferro-resonant over-voltages is proposed in the paper. This algorithm presupposes to apply a voltage to the secondary transformer side from an extraneous source is proposed.

Abstract

The paper reveals expediency to substitute a triangle diagram by a trapezoidal one in the case when angular displacements φ ≤ωmax²/ε  are treated by an electric drive. Such substitution makes it possible to reduce heating losses of electric power in an engine at insignificant increase of displacement time.

Abstract

It is shown that while loading a transformer from idle running to some value it is more advantageous to apply transformers with less losses of active power in steel because total losses of active power in the mentioned range are less than in transformers with larger power losses in steel.

Abstract

The paper examines a circuit of an impulse DC electric drive with one controlled-rectifier that is a thyristor. Regulation of an average voltage value on an engine is carried out by changing frequency of controlling impulses applied to the thyristor. Calculation of commutating capacitance and inductance is given in the paper.

Abstract

The paper proposes a new method for construction of a Z–Y diacoptical mathematical model for correction of steady-state electric power system mode in the case when a state of a passive part of the electric power network is assigned in the Z–Y form.

Abstract

The equilibrium between carbon and oxygen has been investigated during oxidizing refining in an arc steel-melting furnace. It is shown that there is a possibility to apply an equilibrium thermodynamic. It has been established that during oxidizing refining FeO concentration in slag practically does not depend on C concentration in metal. It is demonstrated that in a number of cases metal carbon oxidation is characterized by the presence of a transit period that may be attributed to incomplete slag-formation process.

Abstract

The paper contains solution of the problem concerning heating of multi-layer materials. Method of finite elements has been used to solve the problem.

On the basis of numerical experiments plots of temperature fields have been constructed and optimum operating conditions of heating processes of multi-layer structures of materials having special properties have been determined.

Abstract

The paper presents some results of experimental investigations on convective heat exchange to laminar n-heptane flow under conditions of over-critical pressure. The case has been considered when directions of forced and free motion are mutually opposite.

Under condition tc ≥ tm some specific heat exchange modes being peculiar for the area of over-critical pressure have been determined.

On the basis of experimental data on n-heptane heat exchange recommendations for the evaluation of heat exchange intensity as for viscous so for viscous and gravitation modes have been elaborated.

The paper provides a technique of analytical construction of expendable characteristics and characteristics of a relative gain of water charge at a hydroelectric power station. Planning method and regression analysis have been applied for the construction of these characteristics.

Abstract
Mathematical modeling and experimental investigation results of heat transfer in the case of calcite calcinations in regenerative shaft furnaces are given in the paper. Influence of heating gas temperature, calcined material fragment size and desired final product output on the duration of calcite calcination has been studied. It has been shown that with the given percentage of final product output and permissible changes in heating gas temperature in the furnace it is the fraction size of the calcined material that greatly determines such parameter as a process duration.
