Abstract

A refined mathematical model and algorithm for operative control of the modes and detection of energy loss sites in electricity distribution networks of 6–20 kV have been developed in the paper. The developed software program can be used for testing other technical solutions and computer programs pertaining to the area of research and it is considered as one of the most important components applied for creation of intellectual electric networks.

Abstract
The paper considers problems pertaining to modeling and simulation of operational hybrid system modes of the distributed generation comprising conventional sources – modular diesel generators, gas-turbine power units; and renewable sources – wind and solar power plants. Operational modes of the hybrid system have been investigated under conditions of electrical connection with electric power system and in case of its isolated operation. As a consequence

Abstract

The paper proposes an original scheme of the bi-directional three-phase converter (BTC) with high power factor. A unique feature of the converter is the introduction of a special high-frequency voltage-boost inverter which allows to stabilize output voltage and reduce  harmonic distortion of mains current.

A distinctive feature of the developed converter is a small number of quick-acting fully-controlled semiconductor switches in the power path.

A voltage-boost inverter of the developed converter operates only with a fraction of the converter output power. It is shown that with an optimally chosen output voltage, the power rating of the voltage-boost inverter may be equal to only 4.5% of the output power.

The developed converter ensures operation with an input power factor of 0.95 in the rectifier mode and –0.89 in the regenerative mode, the input current harmonic distortion is about 31 % and 50 %, respectively.

Abstract

Possible risks pertaining to transition of electric-power industry to market relations have been considered in the paper. The paper presents an integrated ACS for generation and sale of electric power as an improvement of methodology for organizational and technical management. The given system is based on integration of operating Automatic Dispatch Control System (ADCS) and developing Automatic Electricity Meter Reading System (AEMRS). The paper proposes to form an inter-branch sector of ACS PLC (Automatic Control System for Prolongation of Life Cycle) users which is oriented on provision of development strategy.

Abstract

The paper contains a comparative efficiency analysis pertaining to application of existing technological methods for suppression of nitric oxide formation in heating boilers of heat generators. A special attention has been given to investigation of NOx  emission reduction while burning hydrocarbon fuel with the help of oxygen-enriched air. The calculations have demonstrated that while enriching oxidizer with the help of oxygen up to 50 % (by volume) it is possible to reduce volume of NOx formation (while burning fuel unit) by 21 %.

Abstract
The paper presents an analysis of main sources of energy resource production and their sale  in the domestic and export markets. The authors have analyzed type of domestic energy consumers and estimated their environmental impacts. The paper shows that the shift to alternative energy sources will reduce an ecological impact on the environment.
