ELECTRICAL POWER ENGINEERING

Abstract

The paper considers the monitoring problem of measurement reliability in power systems applying a semantic method of limiting values. Critical analysis of the existing approach to optimization of the decision making boundaries which is based on the Bayes criterion is given in the paper. It is proposed to use a minimax criterion which makes it possible to solve the optimization problem under the conditions of initial uncertainty in the notions of gross error and unreliability of measurements. Values of eiToneous decisions of the 1st and 2nd kinds are specified by taking into account random measurement errors and substitution of the unreliable measurement results.

Abstract

Short-circuit current levels in power networks with various voltage class are characterized by probabilistic nature. They are discretely changeable, depend on a number of factors and have a significant importance while selecting electric equipment, a graph of power network development and voltage levels.

Determination of the main factors affecting values of short-circuit currents permits to develop efficient methods with the purpose to limit their increase in power networks with various voltage class.

Abstract

The paper considers the possibility to make calculation of group self-starting of asynchronous electric motors being TPS auxiliaries with the help of generalized (averaged) dependences Kr{s), Kx{s) which are equal for all electric motors involved in self-starting process and which makes it possible to take into account displacement of rotor current. Generalized dependences have been obtained on the basis of individual dependences using method of least squares with due account of utilization of these or that characteristics. The paper provides results of the calculations in respect of individual and averaged characteristics of a number of motors. It is concluded that there is possibility to use averaged characteristics for calculation of motor group self-starting.

Abstract

A new method concerning correction of steady-state conditions of electrical power engineering system while changing initial information relative to active parameters of electrical power engineering system is proposed in the paper.

Abstract

The paper contains results of the investigations that reveal the possibility of mutual back-up of 6-lOkV air power lines in the case of emergency power supply switching of any line on condition that operation of the current protection system is initiated. The air power lines of the Gomel power networks have been taken as an example for the execution of the investigations

Abstract

The paper proposes a method for solution of the problem concerning the analysis of the operation of electric and mechanical devices of relay protection with the help of technical and program means of automation control system of thyristor transducers at power installations. The proposed method provides reliable information about trouble-free and emergency operation of protective systems to the personnel of the power installations. This method permits to decrease the time which is required for assessment of emergency cases and their localization.

НEAT POWER ENGINEERING

Abstract

The paper contains analysis of cities’ power-and-heat supply which is based on combined generation of electric and heat power. This analysis makes it possible to give a recommendation in respect of wide application of combined power supply systems. This recommendation ensures significant fuel economy, especially natural gas.

Abstract

Development of power engineering significantly determines the level of the modern society. However, side by side with positive factors there are also negative ones. These negative factors are especially observed in the case of organic fuel usage. As a result of it the environment is polluted with hazardous emissions. Thus power engineering largely becomes dependent on not only economic factors but ecological ones as well.

The paper proposes to assess efficiency of ecological activity of power sources with the help of international standards (14000 ISO), in other words it is recommended to introduce environment monitoring system.

Abstract

The paper considers a new technology concerning the application of bitumen binder for production of asphalt concrete mixture. This technology radically changes the structure of asphalt and concrete production. The proposed technology has been elaborated in the process of modernization of thermal and power supply pertaining to asphalt concrete mixture production.

Abstract

Methodology on analysis of ventilation conditions in civil buildings has been elaborated on the basis of studying thermal and material balances of internal apartment volumes and hydraulic losses for various regimes of air flow movement. The results of numerical investigations which illustrate the methodology are given in the paper. Plots have been constructed and they make it possible to assess the conditions of air flow movement in the apartments. The methodology is applicable for analysis of ventilation conditions in industrial buildings.

HYDRAULIC POWER ENGINEERING

Abstract

The paper proposes a model of disturbed state in the area of backward analysis. This model permits to formalize synthesis of throttle characteristics of the system. It provides the possibility to forecast consumption of operational medium within the scope of timely system control.

Abstract

The paper reveals calculated dependences based on theoretical solution of the problem concerning flow of single ball with liquid or gas which is hindered by vessel walls. Simple designs of rotameters with ball-shaped sensing element in a cylindrical tube are recommended in the paper. These rotameters are designed for measurement of liquid and gas flow rate, liquid density and viscosity.
