ELECTRICAL POWER ENGINEERING
The paper considers adaptive shapers of orthogonal components of microprocessor protections of electrical installations. An algorithm for calculation of shapers of orthogonal signal components has been developed. In order to obtain frequency and dynamic characteristics of the shapers calculation experiments have been carried out. The obtained results of calculations demonstrate improvement quality of shaper characteristics.
The paper describes the frequency characteristics of the most commonly used algorithms of digital resistance metering units in up to date distance protection devices. The evaluation of the application cases of different algorithms was performed, also the comparative analysis of the calculated resistance accuracy under frequency deviation conditions according to the algorithms being considered quoted.
The paper contains description of an automated control system of 35 kV and higher power networks, developed by the BNTU in collaboration with research-and-production firm «Dipol» and introduced at «Minskenergo» power networks. The description of algorithms for solution of some technological problems realized in the library of applied programs that presents a calculative nucleus of the given developed system. Connection procedure of the developed applied program library to the operative and measuring complex of the automated system is given in the paper.
Calculations of phase capacity of two-circuit open-air electric power lines with voltage of 35 kV relative to the ground have been carried out. The paper gives values of capacities of open-air electric power lines with voltage of 35 kV which are located on two-circuit supports depending on the operational mode of the second circuit. The values of capacity of a two- circuit electric power line have been determined provided that circuits of various rated voltage are located on a line. Changes in capacity of an electric power line with voltage of 35 kV have been calculated in comparison with the capacity of an one-circuit line depending on a distance between axes and the operational mode of the second line, if the lines are parallel.
The paper proposes a thermal model of a power oil-immersed transformer as a system of four homogeneous bodies: winding, oil, core and cooling medium. On the basis of experimental data it is shown that such model describes more precisely actual thermal processes taking place in a transformer than the thermal model accepted in GOST 14209-85.
Diacoptic method for correction of complex EPS steady-state conditions is proposed in the paper. The paper considers the case when only excitation vector components or active and reactive power of load nodes are changed.
It is shown that when the diameters of flat-parallel electrodes with sharedges match the diameter of a cylindrical dielectric between them, the «edgeffect» is reduced.

The paper considers the possibility to reduce specific consumption of fuel in furnaces used for gas-cementation of steel products owing to product arrangements in operational space of preliminary heating and cementation zones.
Simplified methodology is given to calculate time for preliminary heating of unspecified- shape products.

The paper provides analytical solution of the Pick second law that makes it possible to calculate moisture distribution in cross-section of ceramic plate at initial and first drying periods taking into account exponential increase in its time intensity. The paper shows necessity to take into account an increase in diffusion coefficient value in the case when temperature of ceramic mass becomes higher.
The paper considers the possibility to reduce leakages through a radial stage clearance owing to profile grooves on a peripheral wheel ring.
The purpose of the proposed investigation is a mathematical formulation a problem and solution of the problems pertaining to selection of operating conditions of heat- and mass transfer processes using numerical methods. Such methodology makes it possible to calculate how the function describing the state of the controlled medium should be changed in order to obtain a desired distribution within minimum period of time. Results of the given paper may be applied for description of drying, heating and other processes.
A method for increase of cyclone dust collector efficiency is proposed in the paper. The results of experimental investigations of hydraulic resistance and specific energy consumption for purification of gas flow in a new cyclone design are given in the paper.
Filled composite materials on the basis of ethylene-propylene-diene rubber and epoxy resin, their ageing process have been investigated under conditions of humid warm climate and in the device of Xenotest-type. The paper shows an influence of ageing aspect on changes in a number of material indices.
